Female Sexual Dysfunction

Female Sexual Dysfunction or FSD includes Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, Arousal Disorder, Orgasmic Disorder and painful intercourse or Dyspareunia and Avoidance Disorder. Hypoactive Sexual Desire is characterized by a loss of sexual desire that leads to distress. This disorder may be generalized and have existed for years or acquired i.e. in a women who once lead a very fulfilling sexual life with her partner and has gradually lossed this desire over time. Other causes for sexual dysfunction must be evaluted and excluded including depression, certain drugs commonly presecribed for depression or anxiety and conditions that cause painful intercourse. Life stressors that are compromising should be explored and life style changes discussed.
